Based on this, this research had the purpose of analyzing the effectiveness of dialectical behavioral therapy in the treatment of suicidal behaviors in adolescents. A descriptive, non-experimental research was carried out by a bibliographic review in which, through the search algorithm, the documents collected from electronic databases such as Redalyc, Elsevier, Google academic were organized with the consequent recovery of files in indexed pages such as Scielo, PubMed and official sites such as WHO and INEC, with a total population of 2507 manuscripts; from this, a sample of 39 documents was obtained by means of a non-probabilistic sampling based on selection criteria. The Critical Review Form-Quantitative Studies classification allowed determining the methodological quality of 11 articles used in the triangulation of information, obtaining that dialectical behavior therapy for adolescents is more effective than other treatments in the reduction of non-suicidal self-harm, self-harm attempts, reduction of costs in the health system and in the prevention of burnout syndrome in therapists; but it is as effective as other approaches in reducing suicidal ideation and depressive symptomatology. Key words: Dialectical behavior therapy, suicidal behavior, adolescents. Reviewed by: Danilo Yépez Oviedo English professor UNACH 0601574692
