Description
Summary:This paper illustrates how new object oriented programming techniques and flexible data structures can be utilized to make off-line power system analysis applications available to the EMS environment. De-mystifying EMS systems, applications, and data structures we describe the basics of integrated architectures that have been implemented at some of the largest control centers in the United States. These new systems are allowing operators and EMS engineers to use powerful analysis and visualization tools to support the needs of modern power system operation.
