For the purpose of this work, the current environmental situation of the farm was established, with which it was possible to obtain information about the general data, operation and processes that are carried out in the poultry farm. Subsequently, the carbon footprint was calculated by multiplying the consumption of each activity by its emission factor, for this a calculator was used as a work tool using the Excel program; obtaining 110,910.55 kg CO2e / year as a result of the calculation in the 3 stages of egg production: Aging stage: 23.42%, laying stage: 74.57% and the distribution stage: 2.01%. Finally, alternative measures were established that would contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases generated by the activities of the “Velasco” poultry farm. |

Finally, alternative measures were established that would contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases generated by the activities of the “Velasco” poultry farm.La presente investigación se llevó a cabo en la granja avícola “Velasco”, ubicada en Bahía de Caráquez, cantón Sucre, provincia de Manabí; misma que tiene como finalidad estimar la huella de carbono generada por las actividades de la avícola y así proponer medidas alternativas para la reducción de los gases de efecto invernadero. Para el efecto de este trabajo, se estableció la situación actual ambiental de la granja, con lo que se logró obtener información acerca de los datos generales, funcionamiento y procesos que se realizan en la avícola. Posteriormente, se procedió al cálculo de la huella de carbono mediante la multiplicación del consumo de cada actividad por su factor de emisión, para esto se utilizó una calculadora como herramienta de trabajo utilizando el programa Excel; obteniendo 110.910,55 kg CO2e/año como resultado del cálculo en las 3 etapas de producción del huevo: Etapa de crianza: 23,42%, etapa de postura: 74,57% y la etapa de distribución: 2,01%.
