Sumario:The present investigation was carried out with the objective of evaluating the efficiency of the fruit bat Artibeus fraterculus that inhabits in ESPAM MFL as a seed disperser. The type of research was descriptive, using bibliographic, inductive and field methods. The procedure was based on three phases, the identification of the tree species that make up the diet of the fruit bat, the estimation of plant diversity and the determination of the minimum area of influence. It was possible to identify 9 types of seeds in the fecal material of the bat under study, determining that the tutumbe is the arboreal species with the highest abundance (76 individuals) on which it feeds. Plant diversity was low, Pearson's correlation determined that there is a linear trend between the richness and importance of the tree species with a value of 0.84; this relationship was carried out in Infostat with a 71% correlation, indicating that the linear relationship between both variables is good. The minimum area of action that Artibeus fraterculus uses for its feeding and seed dispersal was 15.59 ha; in turn, the importance index of the disperser was 10%, which means that the species in question is the only and largest disperser in the study area; with a density of 316 seeds / week * ha.
