Riassunto:The objective of this research was to determine the type of interaction produced from the relationship of the ethanolic extract of Piper capunya (pinku) and Momordica Charantia (bitter melon) leaves against the inhibition of E. coli and S. aureus in vitro. For this purpose, the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method was used. A factorial design AxB +2 was applied with eight treatments and three replications for each one, where A corresponds to four relationships between plant extracts (pinku and bitter melon), B to two pathogens (S. aureus and E.coli) and 2 to the witnesses to the extracts separately. Both the relationships and the controls were established based on 50 µg / mL, while the concentration for each pathogen depending on the treatments was 30x105 CFU / mL. The response variable was the diameter (mm) of the inhibition halos formed by the treatments and the controls. The results showed that the ratio of 37 μg / mL of pinku + 13 μg / mL of bitter melon (T1, T2) presented the highest inhibition halos against the two pathogens, being more effective for the S. aureus bacteria (9, 66 mm - T1). In the comparison of the millimeters of the inhibition halos of the best treatment and controls, an additive interaction was demonstrated, because halos (mm) of the ratio 37 μg / mL of pinku + 13 μg / mL (T1) did not exceed the of the pinku control which was positioned as the best with 12.16 mm for S. aureus.
