In order to study this relationship, the NDVI calculation analysis of satellite images were used for the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021. For this, the global changes in vegetation were analyzed from the OLI and TIRS sensors, and the analysis of the cover layer and land use for the period 2000 - 2008 and 2008 - 2018 in order to determine the changes presented in the vegetation cover. The results determined that the soils linked to agricultural activities presented a slight decrease in their surface (229.91 ha between the years 2015 and 2021) and the deforestation of the forest cover for the periods under study was 205.97 ha of forests, from this total, 73% corresponds to transition from forests to agricultural lands, however, the latter presented a decrease in its surface of 363.65 ha, in agreement with the NDVI analysis. It is concluded that agricultural and livestock activity did not contribute to the fragmentation of the forest in the RVSMC-Pacoche. |

It is concluded that agricultural and livestock activity did not contribute to the fragmentation of the forest in the RVSMC-Pacoche.El Refugio de Vida Silvestre Marino Costera Pacoche (RVSMC-Pacoche) ubicado en la provincia de Manabí, sufre fuertes presiones antrópicas como la deforestación, por ello, el propósito de la presente investigación fue evaluar la actividad agrícola y ganadera en la fragmentación del bosque en el RVSMC-Pacoche. Con el fin de estudiar esta relación se empleó el análisis de cálculo NDVI de imágenes satelitales para los años 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 y 2021 para ello se analizaron los cambios globales en la vegetación a partir de los sensores OLI y TIRS, y el análisis de la capa de cobertura y uso de la tierra para el periodo 2000 – 2008 y 2008 – 2018 con el fin de determinar los cambios presentados en la cobertura de la vegetación. Los resultados determinaron que los suelos vinculados a actividades agrícolas presentaron una ligera disminución en su superficie (229.91 ha entre los años 2015 y 2021) y la deforestación de la cobertura boscosa para los períodos en estudio fue de 205.97 ha de bosques, de este total el 73% corresponde a transición de bosques a tierras agropecuarias, sin embargo, este último presentó una disminución en su superficie de 363.65 ha concordando con el análisis NDVI.
