الملخص:The objective of this research was to evaluate different protein energy supplement alternatives and their effect on the population of bee hives (Apis mellifera). The respective investigation was carried out on the “Luna de Miel” property located at the Las Delicias site, Calceta parish, Bolívar Canton, Manabí province-Ecuador. The variables to be studied were queen posture (PR), final weight of the nuclei (PF), consumption of alternatives (CA), adaptation of nuclei (AN). The experiment was developed through a completely randomized design (DCA), with three treatments and six repetitions, 18 nuclei were used and divided into three groups: the first was administered cake based on moringa flour, lentil, syrup of brown sugar 2:1 (T1), the second received cake based on carob flour, pole beans and brown sugar syrup 1:1 (T2) and the third as a control group without supplementation (T3). The administration of the cakes was carried out every eight days for eight weeks, between April, May and June 2021. The experimental data were processed using ADEVA and the Tukey 5% test. For PR (sig.<0.00), PF (sig.<0.00), CA (sig.<0.00) and AN (sig.<0.02), where it is evident that there is a difference between the treatments, which allows us to suggest T2, since it has positive effects on the performance of the nuclei and a lower economic cost. Furthermore, the results show that there is little adaptability when no supplementation is administered.
