Shrnutí:The present research work was carried out in order to analyze stress and its incidence in the work performance of the administrative staff of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Chone canton, in order to achieve the institutional objectives. The methodology that was used was the method, inductive, analytical and descriptive; which were procedures that helped to study the existing problem. The research techniques that were used to collect the corresponding information were a survey applied to the administrative staff of the GAD in a virtual way through the Google drive tool; results that allowed to know the level of stress and the psychosocial factors with the greatest influence; on the other hand, interviews were conducted with the departmental directors of said institution, an activity that allowed us to know both factors; the results obtained they reflected a moderate stress level, which usually rises to a higher weighting in the months of November to January, due to the activities conducive to the dates, there are factors that are presented as stressors that influence the performance of public servants, such as: volume, work rhythm, family and work balance, work hours and work areas, causing a decrease in work performance and also having an impact on the employees' health; for this reason, the design of the strategies was created as a prevention proposal, in order to improve performance and fulfillment of institutional objectives.
