The potential tourist destination was characterized in environmental, economic, socio-cultural, political, institutional and infrastructure areas: Starting from this point the natural and cultural resources of the parish were inventoried, and the potentials were determined based on: its cultural, environmental, landscape and / or sports characters and their dynamic, usage, accessibility and tourism facilities attributes, according to Villegas and Sanchez methodology (2000) cited by Berry et al. (2011). To evaluate the potential tourist destination the EFI and EFE matrices were applied. Subsequently the competition was determined and a comparative analysis with Membrillo parish was made using CPM. With the SWOT analysis the current state of the study object was diagnosed, and for determining the visitor's profile, activities of their choice and rural tourism search model, a survey was conducted to visitors of rural tourism community centers in Manabí. Based on that information it was structured the integral proposal for the management of rural tourism, a training program of human capital, a monitoring plan and the expert criteria for validation of the proposal. |

Based on that information it was structured the integral proposal for the management of rural tourism, a training program of human capital, a monitoring plan and the expert criteria for validation of the proposal.Para llevar a cabo la investigación, se analizó la gestión integrada y los conceptos básicos sobre turismo rural sostenible; se consideraron varios modelos de gestión para estructurar una metodología que integre los elementos necesarios para la gestión bajo criterios de sostenibilidad, tomando en consideración las características propias del objeto de estudio. Se caracterizó el destino potencial en las áreas: ambiental, económico, sociocultural, político institucional e infraestructura. A partir de ello se inventariaron los recursos naturales y culturales de la parroquia, y se determinaron las potencialidades en base a su carácter (cultural, ambiental, paisajístico y/o deportivo) y sus atributos (dinámica, utilización, accesibilidad y equipamiento turístico) según la metodología de Villegas y Sánchez (2000) citado por Bayas et al. (2011). Para la valoración del destino potencial se aplicaron las matrices EFI y EFE. Posteriormente se determinó la competencia y se efectuó el análisis comparativo de la misma con la parroquia Membrillo a través de la MPC. Con la matriz FODA se diagnosticó el estado actual del objeto de estudio y para determinar el perfil del visitante, las actividades de su preferencia y el modelo de búsqueda de establecimientos de turismo rural, se realizó una encuesta dirigida a los visitantes de los centros de turismo rural comunitario en Manabí.
