San Plácido, Portoviejo". We implemented half-tech plots and plots producer to demonstrate the impact of good agricultural practices (GAP) in maize and rice. We used the method of paired comparisons. The variables evaluated were corn plant height at 30 and 45 days after planting (DAP) in centimeter (cm), stem diameter at 50 DDS, cob diameter, cob length, number kernels per cob, cob weight, cob average weight and maize yield in quintals per hectare, and on rice were: plant height at 40 DDS in cm, number of panicles, number of grains per spike, grain length, paddy rice yield and milled rice yield per plant and hectare. Regarding the production variables evaluated, the differences mainly reflect the plots semi-technologically advanced, excelling the site "El Progreso" which had the highest average yield of 186.48 bushels corn per hectare (q / ha) and in milled rice yield with 48.40 quintals / ha. |

Regarding the production variables evaluated, the differences mainly reflect the plots semi-technologically advanced, excelling the site "El Progreso" which had the highest average yield of 186.48 bushels corn per hectare (q / ha) and in milled rice yield with 48.40 quintals / ha.El presente trabajo laboral se lo realizó en la época invernal del año 2010, entre los meses de Enero a Junio, en los sitios Las Losas, Rio Chico y El Progreso pertenecientes a la parroquia San Placido, cantón Portoviejo, con el propósito de demostrar las “Buenas prácticas agrícolas en cultivos de maíz (Zea mays L.) y arroz (Oryza sativa L.) parroquia San Placido, cantón Portoviejo”. Para demostrar la incidencia de las buenas practicas agrícolas (BPA) en los cultivos de maíz y arroz, se implementaron parcelas semi-tecnificadas y parcelas del productor. Se utilizó el método de las parejas como análisis comparativo. Las variables evaluadas en maíz fueron: altura de planta a los 30 y 45 días después de la siembra (DDS)en centímetro (cm), diámetro del tallo a los 50 DDS, diámetro de la mazorca, longitud de la mazorca, numero de hileras de granos por mazorca, peso de mazorca, peso promedio por mazorca y rendimiento de maíz en quintales por hectárea y en arroz fueron: altura de planta a los 40 DDS en cm, numero de panículas por sitio número de granos por espiga, longitud del grano, rendimiento en gramos por planta de arroz en cascara y rendimiento de arroz pilado por hectárea.
