要約:ABSTRACT In the province of Manabí, Bolívar canton, Pedro Angel Giler parish, Las Cañitas site; the influence of birth weight on the productive parameters of cobb 500 chicks from the ESPAM-MFL incubator was evaluated; for this purpose 400 newborn chicks were distributed in four treatments constituted by four pounds at birth (38, 42, 46 g and control taken at random 42,2 g) with an equal number of repetitions, a total of 16 experimental units with twenty five birds each one, they were worked and analyzed under a completely randomized trial. The breeding period was 6 weeks. The group of animals belonging to T2 (42g) presented the conversion of food into more efficient meat (1.64), consequently a low food consumption was obtained compared to the others (4162.5) and cost benefit indicator equal to 1,45; at the end of the experiment statistical differences were found for weight, the best ones were T3(2661 g) and T4 (2617 g) followed by T2 (2537 g) and T3 (2465 g); the animals that recorded the lowest birth weights also had the lowest mortality rates T1 (1%), T2 (2%), T4 (3%) and T3 (5%); the European efficiency index takes into account all the mentioned factors, thus it is noted that T4 presented the best one (558), followed by T2 (355), T3 (353) and T1 (328). The best productive parameters were presented by animals with beginning weights between 42 and 42.5 g (T2 and T4, respectively).
