Резюме:The objective of this research was to evaluate the use of injectable progesterone in prepubescent heifers prior to an estrus synchronization protocol. Seventy-seven crossbred Zebu heifers, with no presence of a corpus luteum, a body condition score of 2.5, a body weight greater than 200 kg, and an age older than 15 months were used. They were administered 1.5 ml (225 mg) of Sincrogest® intramuscularly, 24 days before starting the fixed-time artificial insemination (IATF) program. The data were analyzed using the InfoStat statistical package (2020) through Student's t-test and Pearson correlation. The uterine diameter of the heifers in the study significantly increased from 15.84 mm to 17.94 mm after the administration of injectable Sincrogest®. The conception rate was 57%, indicating a positive response to the applied treatment. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that there is no correlation between the application of injectable progesterone, weight, and conception rate (r: 0.09).
