Sažetak:The main objective of this research was to strengthen the ecological capacities through environmental education in reforestation to students of the Educational Unit "Plutarco Amable Intriago Moreira" of the parish Canuto, using the bibliographic method in order to study the most relevant topics of the project and the deductive method generating conclusions and recommendations about the problems of the study, Likewise, techniques such as the survey were used to obtain information, reflecting the students' level of knowledge about environmental education and the observation technique, which allowed obtaining a clearer context about the situation of the educational unit. The research was framed in three phases, the first one where it could be seen that the students in the research had a very limited knowledge about basic environmental concepts such as deforestation and reforestation, also observing the lack of green areas in the school. In the second phase, it was possible to establish a theoretical-practical training plan with key themes for environmental education, generating interest in the students and facilitating the execution of the practical component. Finally, phase three showed that the training supported by the practical component succeeded in increasing the students' environmental awareness and capacities, since favorable percentage values were obtained in the indicators applied (72.22% for the knowledge indicator and 93.33% for the participation indicator).
