Description
Summary:This research was carried out with the objective of establishing the critical period of the weeds in two criollo peanut varieties, under the edaphoclimatic conditions of the Carrizal River valley. The trial was established with a randomized complete block design (DBCA), with twelve treatments and three repetitions, with a total of 36 experimental units. Each experimental unit was 4 m2, where six rows were established, spaced at 0.50m apart. For the experiment, creole caramel and white peanut varieties were used. An experiment was developed with each variety where different treatments constituted by periods with weeds (CM) and weed-free periods (LM) were evaluated: T1 (20 days CM and LM), T2 (40 days CM and LM), T3 (60 days days CM and LM), T4 (80 days CM and LM), T5 (100 days CM and LM), T6 (CM all cycle), T7 (20 days LM and CM), T8 (40 days LM and CM), T9 (60 days LM and CM), T10 (80 days LM and CM), T11 (100 days LM and CM) and T12 (LM all cycle). The most important evaluated variables were: phenotypic diversity, weed biomass, density of weeds and dominant species; resulting in the highest yields, in kg ha-1, in the white variety T12 (LM all cycle) with 2506 kg ha-1. The broadleaf tree was the one with the greatest presence, and the period of interference is given at 20 days, reaching the critical period at 60 days.
