| Özet: | The aim of this research was to develop a smart tourism model for big data information management that contributes to the concept of Smart Destination in Manta, Ecuador. The research was exploratory and descriptive, contributing to specific procedures for data collection and analysis, and was based on bibliographic documentation from INVAT-TUR (2016) and SEGITTUR (2018). To carry out this study, three phases were established: starting with the identification of the study area and the current state of its tourism system, through a bibliographic-documentary review where important aspects such as infrastructure characteristics, governance, supply and demand were identified and delimited; an analysis of tourism information management was carried out through interviews with actors involved in directing Manta as an Smart Destination, such as the GAD Manta, tourism bureau, private sector companies and visitors; in addition, a SWOT analysis was performed, which once weighed, established the main variables to formulate the strategic problem and solution. Finally, a proposal for key actions was presented as a control and monitoring plan to promote and encourage the application of the big data information management model in order to add a tool to the tourism dynamics that facilitates the entry of periodic information, collection, performance and frequent monitoring through the collaboration system to improve internal communication and ensure access to tourism sector data. |
