| description | The investigation was carried out with the purpose of analyzing the soft skills of the public servants of the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government in Tosagua canton to determine their influence on work performance, for which three stages were developed that correspond to each of the objectives. specific to the study: in the first instance, the current state of the transversal competences of the employees was established, for which a bibliographical review of the dimensions that include the research variables was started, then a Likert-type structured survey was elaborated and It was validated through the Content Validity Coefficient, then it was provided to the staff and the results were analyzed, previously calculating its reliability through Cronbach's Alpha; the second stage allowed the establishment of the existing influence between the variables and their dimensions using the Pearson Test; Subsequently, in the third phase, an improvement proposal was developed using the 5W+1H planning matrix, to solve the weaknesses pointed out in the Ishikawa Diagram. The results showed significant and positive correlations between the variables studied, which reaffirms the importance of recognizing soft skills as a determining factor of job performance in the context of public servants. In conclusion, this study validates the relevance of strengthening these skills as part of human resource management strategies in the public sphere, which consequently generates benefits for the user. |

In conclusion, this study validates the relevance of strengthening these skills as part of human resource management strategies in the public sphere, which consequently generates benefits for the user.La investigación se efectuó con la finalidad de analizar las habilidades blandas de los servidores públicos del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal del cantón Tosagua para la determinación de su influencia en el desempeño laboral, por lo que se desarrollaron tres etapas que corresponden a cada uno de los objetivos específicos del estudio: en primera instancia se estableció el estado actual de las competencias transversales de los empleados, para lo cual se empezó con una revisión bibliográfica de las dimensiones que incluyen las variables de la investigación, luego se elaboró una encuesta estructurada tipo Likert y se validó mediante el Coeficiente de Validez de Contenido, seguidamente se la suministró al personal y se analizaron los resultados, calculando previamente su confiabilidad a través del Alfa de Cronbach; la segunda etapa permitió el establecimiento de la influencia existente entre las variables y sus dimensiones empleando el Test de Pearson; seguidamente, en la tercera fase se desarrolló una propuesta de mejoras utilizando la matriz de planificación 5W+1H, para darle solución a las debilidades puntualizadas en el Diagrama de Ishikawa. Los resultados demostraron correlaciones significativas y positivas entre las variables estudiadas, lo que reafirma la importancia de reconocer las habilidades blandas como factor determinante del desempeño laboral en el contexto del servidor público.
