| Samenvatting: | The objective of the research was to analyze the insects associated with the cultivation of pitahaya (Hylocereus undatus Haw.) in two locations in the Province of Manabí. The experiment was carried out on the MAKEVA farm, Cantón Chone and the Bendiciones de Dios farm, Cantón Junín. It was carried out in an area of 2000 m2, of pitahaya (red, white pulp), planted at 4*3 meters between plant and row, of which 50 plants located at random will be evaluated, two types of traps were used for capture. of the insects Chromatic traps and Pitfall traps, the variables of the identification component were evaluated, consisting of the total number of insects, total number of insects identified by type of trap, incidence of insects of the main orders found by localities, comparison of insect diversity per family found, total accumulation of insect families by location, total variety of insect genera, temporal distribution of the main families found per farm and for the evaluation damage component variable made up of the damage caused by the insects identified in dry seasons. - rainy weather on the Junín and Chone farms. The chromatic traps obtained a greater capture of insects, the main orders identified were Thysanoptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Lepidoptera, Orthoptera, Dermáptera, Mantodea. The greatest impact of insects in the dry season in Junín was caused by ants, and for Canuto, it was caused by thrips, while in the rainy season, both Junín and Canuto, the damage was caused by thrips, mainly affecting the fruits. |
