Diagnóstico de los beneficios de la presa La Esperanza en el desarrollo del cantón Bolívar

The creation of the Esperanza Dam was performed with the objective of developing the Bolívar Canton, from a socioeconomic perspective, to fully respond the requirements for which it was created, it was necessary to conduct this research in the major parishes: Calceta, Quiroga and Membrillo to determine its impact. Based on the results obtained through a survey on 396 people from the total population, the evidence acquired demonstrated a positive social and economical impact of the Dam. The current research used tools such as SWOT analysis of the Esperanza Dam, and an Evaluation Matrix of external factors which indicated that the external environment is favorable, and surveys techniques applied to the Bolivar population, and interviews conducted to the main officials connected with the subject of study. The types of research used were field research, the literature, the explorative and analytical. The methods used in the development of the research were historical method, descriptive method and the analytical method. Finally, conclusions and recommendations expressed from the object of study, promoting the socio-economic development that generated the construction of the Esperanza Dam in Bolivar Canton.
