Economía circular y su relación con el desarrollo sostenible en el GAD Municipal del cantón Tosagua, 2023

The main objective of this research was to highlight the importance of the circular economy and its relationship with sustainable development, as well as its implementation in the Decentralized Autonomous Municipal Government in Tosagua canton, year 2023. Various methods, techniques, and tools were used as the foundation for the study. The research was carried out in three phases. In the first phase, a literature review was conducted on the study variables. In the second phase, various instruments and techniques were applied, such as an interview with Specialist 1 of the Environmental Management Unit and surveys of the citizens of the aforementioned canton. Finally, in the third phase, a pilot plan was designed, establishing the activities and strategies necessary for the development of the research. The objective of this plan is to promote the circular economy and sustainable development within the canton. In this context, it is concluded that it is imperative for the Decentralized Autonomous Municipal Government in Tosagua canton to adopt concrete and sustained measures to implement an effective circular economy. These measures not only help reduce environmental impacts and pollution but also promote resource efficiency and foster sustainable practices in the canton.
