| Summary: | The objective of this work was to evaluate the classification of post-earthquake tourist accommodation and its influence on customer satisfaction in the Portoviejo canton. Bibliographic research was started that allowed investigating relevant arguments on the issue raised. The methodology detailed the activities to be carried out according to the objectives of the research. Interviews were conducted with both managers and workers. The results of the investigation were as follows; The tourist accommodations of the cantonal head of the city of Portoviejo were characterized, determining that before the earthquake there were 53 establishments, of which there were only 12, despite the fact that 22 establishments are registered in the cadastre, so the capacity of accommodation on the territory. The classification of each studied establishment was determined, the result of which was found in Hotels, which despite the fact that all of them were listed as category two in the tourist registry, two of them belong to the four-star category and two to the 3-star category. With reference to the hostels that were categorized in the two-star category, it was determined that two remain in category two and one goes up to category three, while one goes down to category one of the four existing hostels. Finally, an improvement proposal was presented for all the establishments so that they comply with the requirements established in the country. |
