| description | Pig producers are constantly searching for solutions to reduce production costs. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate moringa (Moringa oleifera) and cassava (Manihot Esculenta) flours as an alternative in the feeding of growing pigs. Thus, through an experimental research and a completely randomized block design, an analysis of variance (ANOVA) was developed to evaluate the productive parameters: weight, daily feed consumption, weekly weight gain, feed conversion, and an economic review for each treatment. Therefore, four treatments were applied corresponding to T1 (moringa meal), T2 (cassava meal), T3 (mixture of moringa and cassava meal) and T4 (commercial feed) for a total of 40 pigs (10 pigs per treatment). According to the methodological design, from 5% to 40% of substitute feed, either moringa meal, cassava or mixed, was provided with respect to the base feed (commercial). The results obtained showed that Treatment 3, a mixture of cassava and moringa meal (20% and 20% of 37.50 kg of daily feed) together with Treatment 1 (moringa meal at 40%) were the best, with a final weight at stage 10 of 40.96 kg for T3 and 34.91 kg in T1, allowing to observe a higher performance in the production of pigs. It is concluded that the use of moringa and cassava meal in swine feed is a favorable alternative from the nutritional and economic point of view. |

Por ello, la presente tuvo como objetivo evaluar las harinas de moringa (Moringa oleífera) y yuca (Manihot Esculenta) como alternativa en la alimentación de cerdos en etapa de crecimiento. Así, mediante una investigación de tipo experimental y un diseño de bloques completamente al azar, se desarrolló un análisis de varianza (ANOVA) para la evaluación de los parámetros productivos: peso, consumo diario del alimento, ganancia de peso semanal, conversión alimenticia, además de una revisión económica para cada tratamiento. Por lo cual, se aplicaron cuatro tratamientos correspondientes al T1 (Harina de moringa), T2 (Harina de yuca), T3 (mezcla de harina de moringa y yuca) y T4 (balanceado comercial) para un total de 40 cerdos (10 cerdos por tratamiento). De acuerdo con el diseño metodológico, se suministró desde un 5% hasta el 40% de alimento sustituto, ya sea harina de moringa, yuca o mixto, con respecto al alimento base (comercial). Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que el Tratamiento 3 mezcla de harina de yuca y moringa (20% y 20% de 37,50 kg de alimento diario) junto con el Tratamiento 1 (harina de moringa al 40%) fueron los de mejores, con un peso final en la etapa 10 de 40,96 kg para T3 y 34,91 kg en T1, permitiendo observar un mayor rendimiento en la producción de cerdos.
