| Özet: | The present research aimed to physicochemically evaluate the residual biomass of sugarcane for its energetic use in the Junín canton, Manabí province. The social and environmental components in the productive sectors were diagnosed, the amount of residual biomass was estimated, and the effective energy potential was established. A mixed approach was applied with 7 representative producers from the Agua Fría site. The physicochemical characterization was carried out, determining moisture (55.20%), carbon (28.32%), hydrogen (7.44%), oxygen (58.86%), nitrogen (0.14%), sulfur (0.16%), and C/N ratio (239.60). A socioeconomic and environmental survey, farm georeferencing, and identification of key stakeholders were applied. For biomass estimation, the Morales methodology was used, obtaining 48.22 t/year of dry residual matter. All the producers evaluated are fully dedicated to sugarcane cultivation, 57.1% have more than 10 years of experience, and 71.4% implement good environmental practices. However, none have received formal training in environmental issues. The energy analysis reported that Combined Cycle Gasification presents the highest potential (86.01 MWh/year), followed by Pyrolysis with cogeneration (71.10 MWh/year) and Direct Combustion (45.64 MWh/year). The research establishes a significant energy resource currently underutilized in the area. |
