The objectives were to: identify the appropriate alternative for the capture of fruit borer in coffee plantations in Bolívar Canton, Manabí and establish the economic benefits of the ethological control alternatives to the coffee borer. The treatments evaluated were: mixture of alcohols (methyl 3 + ethyl), mixture of alcohols + roasted and ground coffee, mixture of alcohols + roasted and ground coffee + panela, mixture of alcohols + roasted and ground coffee + vanilla essence, toasted and ground, brandy + roasted and ground coffee + panela, mixture of alcohols + roasted and ground coffee + vanilla essence, brandy + soluble coffee. The results of the experiment allowed to determine that the use of handcrafted traps for the monitoring and capture of fruit borer in coffee plantations of the Bolivar canton was effective, the treatment based on brandy + roasted and ground coffee + resulted in a statistically more effective (p <0.01) for the capture of female adult drills, with an average of 25 insects / trap. The treatments that included aguardiente in the preparation of the traps were the ones of less cost. |

Los objetivos fueron: Identificar la alternativa apropiada para la captura de broca del fruto en cafetales en el Cantón Bolívar, Manabí y establecer los beneficios económicos de las alternativas de control etológico la broca del café. Los tratamientos evaluados fueron: mezcla de alcoholes (metílico3 + etílico1), mezcla de alcoholes + café tostado y molido, mezcla de alcoholes + café tostado y molido + panela, mezcla de alcoholes + café tostado y molido + esencia de vainilla, aguardiente + café tostado y molido, aguardiente + café tostado y molido + panela, mezcla de alcoholes + café tostado y molido + esencia de vainilla, aguardiente + café soluble. Los resultados del experimento permitieron determinar que el uso de trampas artesanales para el monitoreo y captura de broca del fruto en cafetales del cantón Bolívar, fue efectiva, el tratamiento a base de aguardiente + café tostado y molido + panela resulto fue estadísticamente más efectiva (p<0,01) para la captura de brocas adultas hembras, con un promedio de 25 insectos/ trampa.
