| description | This research aimed an environmental socioeconomic analysis of drinking water in Manta canton. The study was non experimental, the use of technological tools such as REDATAM for the determination of the population and the different supplying routes of drinking water. Data from the population are both from rural and urban areas were taken from the population and housing census 2010, through this software it was able to meet the economic activity of the population and their payment capacity; it was established that the people of low income being 22% develop activities of wholesale and retail in a canton identified as national and international tourism destination, followed by 15% of people working in the manufacturing sector and 8% work in construction denoting their low income so it can be difficult for them the payment of the service. That is why a proposal for the reconciliation of both parties and establishes payment agreements. |

That is why a proposal for the reconciliation of both parties and establishes payment agreements.La investigación tuvo como fin realizar un diagnóstico socioeconómico ambiental del agua potable del cantón Manta. La investigación fue no experimental, se empleó el uso de herramientas tecnológicas como el REDATAM para la determinación de la población y las diferentes vías de abastecimiento del servicio de agua potable. Los datos de la población tanto del sector rural y urbano fueron tomados del censo de población y vivienda 2010, también a través del uso de este software se logró conocer la actividad económica de la población y a su vez determinar su capacidad de pago; donde se estableció que los puestos que ocupan laboralmente las personas son de ingresos bajos donde el 22% pertenece a la actividad del comercio al por mayor y al por menor por ser una cantón identificada por el turismo nacional e internacional, seguido del 15% de personas que laboran en el sector de la industria manufacturera y el 8% laboran en la construcción denotando así su bajos ingresos por lo que puede resultar dificultoso el pago del servicio.
