The first consisted of a situational diagnosis, where the official documents were reviewed in order to determine the current status of the wetland, and subsequent selection of indicators suitable for the study area as well as surveys of the communities near its area of influence to determine the degree of partition and the interest within the tourist activity in the attractiveness; in the same way, interviews with the GAD of Chone, Tosagua and the Parochial Board of San Antonio to determine which are the institutional regulations that are used, actions or activities that they develop to preserve it and take advantage of it touristically; Indicators were applied identifying and defining priority areas and problems of attractiveness in which work should be carried out in this way. The aim is to develop strategies that transform environmental conceptions, habits and perspectives, as well as the protection and value enhancement of both natural and cultural resources. through an education that contributes to a sustainable future. These are aimed at an observatory of sustainable development whose main objective is to serve as an instrument of reflection and participation with the purpose of guiding the appropriate decision making towards the wetland. |

El estudio inició con un diagnóstico situacional, donde se realizó la revisión de documentos oficiales y visitas de campo para poder determinar la situación actual del humedal, se aplican encuestas a las comunidades de la zona de amortiguamiento para determinar el grado de partición y el interés dentro de la actividad turística en el atractivo; de la misma forma se realizan entrevistas a los gestores de los GADs de Chone, Tosagua y la Junta Parroquial de San Antonio para conocer la gestión y acciones que desarrollan para el manejo y conservación del humedal. Se analizaron los indicadores y se realizó una selección mediante el criterio de expertos y conocedores del área. Luego se aplicaron indicadores para evaluar la situación turística y ambiental identificando áreas y problemas prioritarios en los que se deberán establecer estrategias para el desarrollo y manejo turístico sostenible del área protegida. Se identifican acciones direccionadas a los tres ejes de la sostenibilidad, estas van desde campañas de educación turística y ambiental para los gestores, visitantes y comunidades; también se plantea fortalecer políticas y normativas para su manejo adecuado, se sugieren implementación de facilidades turísticas y programas para fomentar la calidad en el servicio.
