| Izvleček: | The purpose of this research was to analyze gender equity in the working condi-tions of the Decentralized Autonomous Government in Tosagua Canton. A mixed-methods approach was used, which allowed for an understanding of the variables from different perspectives, integrating deductive, inductive, analytical, and syn-thetic methods, facilitating a detailed analysis of the data. The main tools used were observation sheets, interviews, and surveys applied to public employees. The results revealed that although 49.21% of the staff is female, only 16.67% of women hold leadership positions, reflecting significant underrepresentation in managerial levels. The interview with the director of human resources identified that, despite certain advances in women occupying important positions, barriers still limit their access to higher responsibility roles. Additionally, 61.54% of survey respondents agreed with equal employment opportunities, yet difficulties for wom-en in terms of career advancement were observed. Therefore, strategies were developed to promote gender equity, focusing on reviewing selection processes, creating leadership training programs, and ensuring that women have the same opportunities to access managerial positions. These actions are essential to re-duce the identified gender biases and promote a more inclusive and equitable work environment within the GAD in Tosagua Canton. |
