Resumo:Pepper is a highly demanding crop in irrigation, therefore, in pepper production, the water requirements are generally solved by the implementation of an irrigation system, this, in turn, represents a limitation for certain farmers who do not have the means to implement technologies that optimize the use of water in this plantation. In order to evaluate the effect of the hydrogel with the vermicompost in the pepper crop (Capsicum annuum L.), quetzal hybrid, under irrigation conditions, this trial was developed, managed under a randomized complete block design (DBCA) in arrangement factorial A x B + 3 with 12 treatments, three replicates and 36 experimental units. The treatment that contained only hydrogel was subjected to three irrigations during the cycle. An analysis of variance (ADEVA) was carried out, Tukey's significance tests at 5%, to differentiate between the treatments and factors under study, seven response variables were evaluated, which were: the volumetric water content, the biomass, the number, length, diameter and weight of fruits. No significant differences were found in the volumetric water content and biomass variables. The production variables, such as the number of fruits per plant, did not show statistical differences either, as did the diameter of the fruit; however, the length and weight of the fruit registered differences in the six treatment (2 g/plant of hydrogel + 220 g /vermicompost plant) with the average dose of hydrogel plus the maximum dose of vermicompost.
