Description
Summary:The objective of the research was to increase the yield and profitability of the national cocoa through fertilization with nitrogen, sulfur, micronutrients and phytoregulators. The research was established in a production cocoa plantation planted with the polyclone formed by cultivars EET-103, EET-575 and EET-576. The experiment was developed with a randomized complete block design with 11 fertilization treatments, three replicates and 33 experimental units. The experimental unit consisted of plots with four rows of six plants, where data was recorded in the eight central plants. Fertilization treatments were combinations of nitrogen (250, 350 and 450 kg ha-1 year-1), sulfur (50, 100 and 150 kg ha-1 year-1), micronutrients (25, 50 and 75 kg ha-1) year-1) and phytoregulators (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 L per application) that were applied in the peaks of flowering and fruiting. In addition, an NPK treatment and a control were included. The main variables recorded were yield and net economic benefit. The analysis of data was done with analysis of variance, the separation of means with Tukey 0.05 and the optimal combination of fertilization was obtained through regular analysis of taguchi L9 (3) 4. The results based on the prediction of taguchi maximum response showed that the highest yield (54 qq ha-1 year-1) and net economic benefit (2507 USD ha-1 year-1) was obtained by the combination of 450 kg of N, 100 kg of S, 25 kg of micronutrients and 0.5 L ha-1 of phytoregulator.
