Pollinating species of the Ceratopogonidae family collected in yellow viscous traps of 5 x 5 cm distributed in three production systems were identified and counted, the same pollinating species of Ceratopogonidae were reported in the three production systems, among which the genera stand out. Forcipomyia and Dasyhelea. The role of pollinators in the fertilization of the cocoa flower was demonstrated through pollination techniques (free / natural and assisted). The sleeve technique was used as a control. It was started with a known number of flowers / branches, from days 3, 6, 14 and 21, to determine the number of active flowers, pollinated, fertilized and fruits formed, the assisted pollination technique is significantly better than the technique of free or natural pollination. It can be concluded that the systems studied do not relate the percentage of pollination, fertilization and fruit formation, however, the Monoculture system is the most optimal because it was where the highest number of pollinated flowers (D-6) and fertilized (D- 14) and formed fruits (D-21 and D-36). |

Este proyecto se llevó a cabo en la estación experimental Portoviejo del INIAP. Se identificaron y contaron especies polinizadoras de la familia Ceratopogonidae recolectadas en trampas viscosas amarillas de 5 x 5 cm distribuidos en los tres sistemas de producción, las mismas especies polinizadoras de Ceratopogonidae fueron reportadas en los tres sistemas de producción, entre los que se destacan los géneros Forcipomyia y Dasyhelea. Fue demostrado el rol de los polinizadores en la fecundación de la flor del cacao a través de las técnicas de polinización (libre/natural y asistida). Como control se utilizó la técnica de enmangado. Se partió con un número conocido de flores / ramas, a partir de los días 3, 6, 14 y 21, para determinar el número de flores activas, polinizadas, fertilizadas y frutos formados, la técnica de polinización asistida es significativamente mejor que la técnica de polinización libre o natural.
