| Sumari: | This research aimed to evaluate the relationship between the use of single-use plastics and the generation of MSW, in the food court in Calceta, Bolívar Manabí. The methods used were descriptive and qualitative-quantitative. The main techniques were observation, interview and survey. It was identified that there are 20 dining rooms and a total of 60 people were studied, who work inside the food court, as partners and employees, in the food court in Calceta parish 600.6 kg of MSW are generated, represented as follows: waste organic 158.32 kg of food scraps; 138.61 kg of vegetable remains and 106.49 kg of fruit remains; while, in inorganic waste the value was 11.58 kg of paper, 14.49 kg of cardboard and 8.9 kg of common plastic, finding 162.21 kg of single-use plastic waste. The determination of the use of single-use plastics from the food court in Calceta parish in the generation of MSW determined a percentage of representativeness of the plastic of only 27.01% sampled in 28 days, it was also found that the PPC It is 0.40 kg / hab / day; in addition, the proposal for the decrease in the use of single-use plastic waste is based on environmental education and socialization with the parties involved through participatory action. With the investigation and calculation of the representativeness of single-use plastics, it was shown that single-use plastics are positively related to the generation of MSW in the food court in Calceta city. |
