Тойм: | This research was developed under the theme of occupational safety and health, aspects of relevance within organizations in protecting their workers from risk factors, the study aims to evaluate it in the public works department of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the canton Chone (GAD Chone) for the development of a proposed improvement plan that contributes to reducing occupational accidents and diseases. In the first instance for the evaluation of the variables under study, an interview under dimension structure was applied to the director of the area involved, to obtain his perspective of the main guidelines established in the internal regulations of the institution, subsequently proceeded to apply a survey through Likert scales to the workers of the department, allowing to analyze the main parameters related to the study variables. The results from the instruments applied show mainly the lack of training on the part of the institution towards its workers in terms of occupational safety and health, this triggering fallacy in certain of the dimensions that were involved, in addition, of the inadequacy of its areas of work, in terms of ergonomics, protection and signalling. The deficiencies encountered could accommodate incidents and accidents at work in some time, harming workers and the institution, since these corrective actions are essential for their improvement. |
