It is concluded that the prevalence of brucellosis in the Portoviejo slaughterhouse is low with 0.42%. Therefore, it was determined that in the slaughterhouse of the canton of Portoviejo 90% do know the Laws and animal health and in the slaughterhouse of the Canton Chone 79% do not know the Laws of Animal Health. |

Para este trabajo se tomaron: 108 muestras de sangre de animales que estaban para el faenamiento en el cantón Chone y 237 muestras de sangre de animales en el cantón Portoviejo con un total de 345 muestras. La punción se ejecutó en el cuello justo donde se divisa la vena yugular, para ello se utilizó agujas de 18 x 1” 25 mm, las muestras recaudadas fueron rotuladas y empacadas en coolers, precautelando su integridad, luego enviadas al Laboratorio “ANIMALAB”, mismo quien emitió los resultados de 236 exámenes negativo y 1 positivo en la ciudad de Portoviejo, es decir un 0.42% del total que está en una edad de 4 años, lo que levanto la alerta y la relevancia de esta investigación y 108 exámenes negativos en la Ciudad de Chone. Se concluye que la prevalencia de brucelosis en el centro de faenamiento de Portoviejo es baja con el 0.42%.
