The calculated indices show the Creole step horse as dolichocephalic (48.00%), longilinear (68.00%), dolichothoracic (58.00%), dolicomorphic (70.00%), mean metacarpal correlation (56.00%) ), brachypelvic (62.00%) and long and high proportionality (42.00%), the mare as mesocephalic (42.11%), longilinear (73.68%), dolichothoracic (47.37%), dolicomorphic (57.89%), mean metacarpal correlation (57.89%), brachypelvic (63.16%) and long proportionality (52.63%). While in chromohipological variables they show that the chestnut layer stands out with (53.62%), (59.00%) they wore black helmets, (97.00%) with a rectilinear cephalic profile, (91.00%) a pyramidal cervical profile, ( 94.00%) normal dorsal-lumbar profile and (94.00%) normal ventral profile. It is concluded that the results found for the studied population maintain important similarity with those analyzed in other cantons of Manabí and the Ecuadorian Sierra. Therefore, it is viable to promote genetic improvement to get closer to the authenticity of the Creole racial line. |

Therefore, it is viable to promote genetic improvement to get closer to the authenticity of the Creole racial line.La investigación tuvo como objetivo caracterizar las particularidades cromohipológicas y zoométricas al caballo criollo de paso presente en el Sitio Los Monos del Cantón Chone Provincia de Manabí, Ecuador. Para este estudio, se utilizaron 69 equinos autóctonos, con características fenotípicas de biotipo criollo, en los cuales se procedieron a tomar 12 medidas zoométricas, se calculó 7 índices zoométricos a los que se sometió a estadística descriptiva (media, valor máximo, valor mínimo y error estándar). Se evaluó las siguientes medidas: en ambos sexos, ancho y largo de cabeza, alzada a la cruz y grupa, largo y ancho de grupa, diámetro longitudinal, dorso-esternal, bicostal, perímetro torácico, perímetro de la caña y peso aproximado. Los índices calculados muestran al caballo criollo de paso como dolicocéfalo (48,00%), longilíneo (68,00%), dolicotorácico (58,00%), dolicomorfo (70,00%), correlación metacarpiana media (56,00%), braquipélvico (62,00%) y de proporcionalidad larga y alta (42,00%), la yegua como mesocéfalo (42,11%), longilíneo (73,68%), dolicotorácico (47,37%), dolicomorfo (57,89%), correlación metacarpiana media (57,89%), braquipélvico (63,16%) y de proporcionalidad largo (52.63%). Mientras que en variables cromohipológica muestran que la capa castaña sobresale con un (53.62%), (59,00%) lucieron cascos negros, (97,00%) con perfil cefálico rectilíneo, (91,00%) perfil cervical piramidal, (94,00%) perfil dorso-lumbar normal y (94,00%) perfil ventral normal. Se concluye que los resultados encontrados de la población estudiada mantienen importante semejanza con los analizados en otros cantones de Manabí y la Sierra Ecuatoriana.
