| Streszczenie: | The objective of this research was to evaluate the capacity of hydrocarbon obtained from corn stover (Zea mays) as an adsorbent medium for the yellow dye tartrazine in aqueous solutions. To carry out the study, deductive methods, bibliographic review and statistical analysis were used, as well as chemical analysis and inferential statistics techniques. The material was characterized by means of a granulometric analysis, determination of the zero loading point and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, in order to identify the parameters related to its absorption capacity. An AxB asymmetric factorial experimental design was applied with 20 treatments and three replicates, where the variables were the dose of material and the pH of the solution. The results revealed that treatment T4 with a pH of 2 and a dose of 1,6 g of adsorbent material achieved the highest removal, 75,24%, while treatment T16 with pH 10 and the same dose of hydrocarbon showed a lower removal, with a percentage value of 2.22%. The kinetic study based on the besttreatment (T4) indicated an equilibrium time of 120-180 minutes, with an optimal fitto thePseudo First and Pseudo Second order models in relation to the interaction between adsorbate-adsorbent particles. In terms of equilibrium, a higher affinity to the Sips Model was observed, evidencing the complex interaction between the dye and the adsorbate. |
