| description | The main objective of this research is to diagnose innovation management for the development of the tourism sector in Puerto López. The methodological design was descriptive with a mixed approach, structured in three phases. In the first phase, the study area was characterized, and multidimensional aspects were also considered, where it was found that the main economic activity is tourism. In addition, the profile of the tourist focused on the technological service in the context of COVID-19 was analyzed. As a second phase, indicators were evaluated and designed to measure management and innovation in the territory based on the criteria of experts, where it was determined that there is a need to take actions to improve the quality of services with the implementation of technological tools. In the third and last phase, strategic innovation guidelines were proposed for the destination's tourism development, with the main axis being the development of programs and projects that allow the integration of the chain of actors in the management of tourism activity. In addition, the main strategy is to establish new programs and projects aimed at innovation for the improvement of territorial management in the destination, for which a follow-up and control plan is proposed as a long-term priority. |

El diseño metodológico fue de carácter descriptivo con un enfoque mixto, estructurado en tres fases. En la primera fase se caracterizó el área de estudio, también se consideraron los aspectos multidimensionales, donde se obtuvo como resultado que la principal actividad económica es el turismo. Además, se analizó el perfil del turista enfocado al servicio tecnológico en el contexto del COVID-19. Como segunda fase se evaluaron y diseñaron indicadores para medir la gestión e innovación en el territorio en función del criterio de expertos, donde se determinó que existe la necesidad de tomar acciones para mejorar la calidad de los servicios con el implemento de herramientas tecnológicas. En la tercera fase y última, se propusieron lineamientos estratégicos de innovación para el desarrollo turístico del destino, siendo su eje principal el desarrollo de programas y proyectos que permitan integrar la cadena de los actores de la gestión de la actividad turística.
