Incidencia de riesgos físicos y mecánicos en la salud ocupacional de los trabajadores de la empresa "Comercial Gaibor"

The goal of this research was to evaluate the incidence of physical and mechanical risks on the occupational security of the employees at the "Comercial Gaibor". Risk factors were identified through the revision of the current standards current standards (Ecuador Labor Code, Health and Safety Regulations for Workers), in order to compare the limits set at the regulations with those, in order to compare the limits set at the regulations with those identified in the company. Information from all work areas was collected by using interviews and surveys in order to understand the real conditions experienced by the workers. By the use of a Triple Criteria Matrix, the most substantial physical and mechanical risks were identified, showing the physical risks as the ones of the most constant exposure 3 (noise, temperature and illumination), and mechanical risks 13 (reduced physical spaces, disorganized work area, falling objects). For each risk identified in the different work areas, the probability of an accident was evaluated, as well as the severity of the damage caused by it, which made it possible to determine the level of danger to which the workers are exposed. Based on the findings of the study, a program aimed at mitigating the physical and mechanical risks for the health and safety management, management, which help the workers by improving the work conditions and has also had the benefit of improving the work performance in the company.
