Relación del conocimiento y comportamiento ambiental sobre acciones climáticas afirmativas en estudiantes de la Carrera de Agroindustria ESPAM MFL

The research was conducted with first- to third-semester students of the Agroindustry program at ESPAM MFL, aiming to evaluate environmental knowledge and behavior regarding affirmative climate actions during the period April 2024 – February 2025. Descriptive, non-experimental, field methods with a quantitative approach were employed. The current state of environmental knowledge about affirmative climate actions was identified through a 14-question survey administered to 49 students. Subsequently, an environmental training plan was established, consisting of virtual workshops covering topics such as compost production, as well as a practical workshop where students learned about composting processes and the utilization of agro-industrial by-products. Finally, the relationship of the described training plan was validated through a comparative analysis between the initial and final surveys. As a result, before the trainings, 35.71% of men agreed that affirmative actions are essential to address climate change, while 14.29% of women were totally in agreement. Post-training responses showed significant favorable changes, reaching 67.86% for men in this category and 66.67% for women. The results demonstrate that environmental education training significantly improved students’ knowledge and behavior, supporting the effectiveness and potential of such interventions to promote comprehensive environmental education in the context of Higher Education
