Summary:The purpose of this research was to evaluate the job satisfaction of the public servants of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Bolívar canton. To do this, interviews were conducted with the directors of each of the areas in order to know and identify the necessary resources for their management. and the conditions that are perceived in the work environment, identifying strengths and weaknesses through the institutional SWOT. Then, the survey was applied through a construct that evaluates the variables: characteristics of the task, working conditions, salary, recognition, benefits, supervision and colleagues, where it was determined that the institution has inadequate infrastructure and limited opportunities for training, which allowed to identify the causes - effects through the Ishikawa diagram. Ultimately, to counteract the problems encountered, the Benchmarking tool was taken into account, managing to establish strategies within an improvement plan that involves each of the areas and their staff.
