| Shrnutí: | The production and marketing of coconut generate large amounts of waste (fiber) that are not managed efficiently. The objective of this research was to evaluate the usefulness of coconut fiber for the construction of ecological blocks as a contribution to the circular economy in Rocafuerte. The study was experimental; with application of descriptive, analytical, experimental and bibliographic methods, under a completely randomized design (DCA) with a 3x3 unifactorial arrangement, giving a total of 9 experimental units. Each treatment was carried out with different presentations of coconut fiber, 0.57 kg of fiber in tufts for T1, 1.11 kg of powdered fiber for T2 and finally T3 of 1.85 kg for the mixture of both presentations of the fiber. Subsequently, the ecoblocks were subjected to quality tests, including humidity, presence of microorganisms, maximum force, maximum tension, maximum displacement and maximum deformation; Finally, the matrix of potential uses was applied. The results showed that T1 presented better data for maximum force (13.59 kN) and maximum tension (7.672 N/mm2), while T3 obtained better figures for maximum displacement (2.016 mm) and maximum deformation (2.052%). On the other hand, the matrix of potential uses revealed that the application of coconut fiber to the concrete mix will help improve its quality. |
