الوصف
الملخص:The improper handling and lack of technical bases of solid waste causes difficulties due to the excessive accumulation of waste and entails the loss of potential economic resources due to the non-recovery of raw materials and energy, San Jacinto del Cantón Sucre Spa in the province of Manabí, is a beach visited by domestic and foreign tourists. The research aimed to publicize the carrying capacity of the San Jacinto spa as a necessary component to know the spa's sustainability. The results were evident and the production of solid household waste was monitored taking as a starting point the population of 6000 people, which yielded 474.31 kg. / day / person which results in an amount of 0.79 kg / d / p. When the tourist influx enters the spa, there is an increase of people with a total of 9150 inhabitants with a solid waste production of 842.05 kg / d. and a per capita production of 1.30 kg / d / p. If it has been calculated, that the spa has a physical capacity of 3150 and a maximum capacity of 6175 people; but the influx of tourists reaches 9150; this implies that there is more number of visitors than the load capacity of the spa. Therefore, San Jacinto is in frank deterioration as a tourist product and ecosystem.
