| Summary: | According to the investigation showed that greenhouse gas (GHG) produced mainly by agriculture as methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). They are affecting global climate change. This study evaluated the characteristics of agriculture, forestry and land uses with the absorption of CO2 in the Cantón Junín-Manabí-Ecuador. Descriptive research method with the collection of statistical data as well as interviews with experts supported by guidelines used by official sources as the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Aquaculture (MAGAP), the INEC and geo-referenced information system for the MAGAP (IPCC 1996) was shown to behave as Junín Cantón emitter of greenhouse gases, during the years of study the issue was increased absorption. Emissions equivalent to the category to the agricultural sector, show that carbon dioxide in 2012 with the largest issue with 783.26 Gg CO2-eq; 2013 followed with 578.87 Gg; CO2-eq; 2009 with 280.00 Gg; CO2-eq; 2010 with 265.86 Gg; CO2-eq; and lower emission was in 2011 with 253.41 Gg CO2-eq; The absorption rate was increased in 2012 to 777.98 Gg CO2-eq; The results indicate that the Cantón is a sink. Measures for the reduction of emissions and strategies for improvements in conservation measures for adaptation and mitigation engineering alternatives were raised. |
