Samenvatting:The research was aimed at estimating the carbon footprint, which consists in the calculation of the greenhouse amount gas (GHG), issued directly and indirectly by the organic farm "Nueva Esperanza", in respect of the productive processes of the bananas for exportation. This environmental impact was reflected by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol software (version 2.0); the entered data were generated on the basis of the study area, which has a surface of 207 hectares; where the information was collected through procedures of environmental auditing in each of their areas by identifying environmental findings, the same that are reflected within the Environmental Management Plan proposed by the authors. Once, the emission sources were estimated, it is indicated that the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) that was generated in the area of study is 642, 7 tCO2eq, during the first six months of the year 2016, that is, for each ton produced of bananas, about 55 KgCO2eq is generated.
