The statistical and animal model included therandom effect of the father and as fixed effects: year of birth and racial composition. The general linear model (GLM) procedure of the SAS statistical package was applied for analysis of variance. The variance components to calculate PN and PD genetic parameters were obtained with the VCE v.6 software and for breeding values, the MTDFRELM software was obtained, through the evaluation system of the Best Linear Unbiased Predictor (BLUP). An average of 37.64 ± 2.35 Kg was found for NP and 195.09 ± 30.12 Kg for PD. A highly significant difference (p≤0.01) was found for random and fixed effects, the heritability for NP was of 0.137 ± 0.209 and for PD of 0.386 ± 0.177 with genetic connections of -0.181 and it was found in the NP 36.47% of positive DEP and for PD 33.09%. It is concluded that the low and medium heritability found for PN and PD respectively, shows the high influence of non-genetic factors and due to the antagonism in the null genetic correlation, the PN should be improved and the PD used as a selection criterion. |

Se analizaron 946 animales con 351 registros para PN y 314 para PD generados entre 2011 y 2021. El modelo estadístico y animal incluyó efecto aleatorio del padre y como efectos fijos: año de nacimiento y composición racial. Se aplicó procedimiento del modelo lineal general (GLM) del paquete estadístico SAS para análisis de varianza. Los componentes de la varianza para calcular parámetros genéticos de PN y PD se utilizó el software VCE v.6 y para valores de cría se utilizó el software MTDFRELM, a través del sistema de evaluación del Mejor Predictor Lineal Insesgado (BLUP). Se encontró un promedio para PN de 37.64 ± 2.35 Kg y para PD de 195.09 ± 30.12 Kg. Se halló diferencia altamente significativa (p≤0.01) para los efectos aleatorios y fijos, la heredabilidad para PN fue de 0.137 ± 0.209 y para PD de 0.386 ± 0.177 con correlación genética de -0.181 y se encontró en el PN 36.47% de DEP positivas y para PD el 33.09%.
