| Özet: | The objective of this research was to diagnose land-use conflicts as a contribution to agro-productive sustainability in the area of the Agricultural Engineering program at the Escuela Superior Politécnica Agropecuaria de Manabí. The research methodology included field visits, data collection of coordinates using GPS, and aerial imagery capture with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone to analyze land cover and land use. To assess land-use capability, the CLIRSEN methodology was applied, considering variables such as texture, salinity, temperature regime, stoniness, and slope. Land-use conflicts were determined by comparing land cover and use with land-use capability. The study area identified three primary land uses: agricultural use (44%), forestry use (13.61%), and conservation/production use (27.82%), with an additional category for other uses (bare soil, water bodies, and infrastructure) accounting for 14.56%. Regarding land-use capability, 85% of the area falls under Class I, and 14% under Class II. The study concludes that only 20% of the land in the Agricultural Engineering program area is being used appropriately, while 79% is in conflict due to underutilization, as current land use does not align with its full potential. |
