| 要約: | In order to diagnose the conditions that affect the quality of broiler chicks of the Cobb 500 line up to five days of life, a non-experimental, descriptive and comparative study was implemented, five farms located in the northern area of Manabí were evaluated, in the which the conditions of the chicks of three batches were evaluated at reception until day five, the variables considered were number of chicks received, weight, size, percentage of mortality, cause of death and microbiological quality. The results indicate regarding the number of chicks received large farms more than 100000 chicks there were two farms in this category, medium from 1000 to 9000 with one farm and small less than 1000 two farms were found, regarding the weight and size of the chicks it was higher for small farms, weight gain and growth was favorable for small and medium farms, in the percentage of mortality a higher index was found for large farms, where the most frequent cause of death was asphyxiation followed by Escherichia infections coli, while death due to ascites, yolk sac infection and pericarditis showed lower averages in a similar magnitude in all farms. In general, it is concluded that the conditions of the farms regarding the number of chicks received, weight, size, influence the general parameters of the chickens and their health conditions, and there was a moderate level of mortality in each farm. |
