| Streszczenie: | The objective of the research was to evaluate the biostimulant effect of industrial by-products on the growth of corn and bean plants. The work was carried out in the ESPAM MFL cultivation house. Two experiments were performed over time. In the first, the effectiveness of increasing doses of molasses, coconut water and whey on the growth of corn and bean seedlings was evaluated separately. In the second experiment, the combined effect of the most effective doses of molasses, coconut water and whey was compared vs the effect of a commercial biostimulant. In both trials and crops, a completely randomized design was used, where the main variable recorded was the dry mass of the plant.(PDM) In the first experiment, significant statistical differences (p<0.05) were detected for both cultures, where the 75, 100 and 100 mL L-1 doses of molasses, coconut water and whey in their respective order, were more effective for the corn growth in MSP; while, for beans, the most effective doses were 25, 50, and 100 mL L-1 of molasses, coconut water, and whey, respectively. In the second experiment, significant statistical differences (p<0.05) were detected between treatments, where the combination of molasses, coconut water and whey was statistically similar to the commercial biostimulant, but different from the control treatment, which evidenced the biostimulant effect of these industrial by-products on plant growth. It is concluded that the combination of coconut water, molasses and whey could be used as biostimulants to enhance early plant growth. |
