| Summary: | The objective of this research was to evaluate the incidence of pesticides on the diversity of entomofauna in the community of San Rafael del Tuso; it was descriptive and non-experimental, using methods such as bibliographic, inductive and field methods, with research techniques such as observation and survey. Three phases were carried out: in the first phase, the current situation of areas intervened by agricultural activity and those not intervened was diagnosed; through a survey of the inhabitants it was determined that the most predominant crops were potatoes, maize, beans, broad beans and wheat, and to maintain them the farmers adopted the use of agrotoxins, the main ones being Permasect and Thiamethoxam with different frequencies of application. In the second, the diversity of entomofauna was estimated, showing a total of 12 orders, 29 families, 37 genera and 37 species of entomofauna, which highlights the biological richness and ecological complexity of the area. Simpson's diversity index, with a value of 0.97, indicated a high dominance of one species, while Shannon – Weaver, index obtained a value of 1.56, suggesting moderate diversity. Finally, in the third phase, due to the fact that not all villagers are aware of the effects of pesticides, a practical knowledge guide on Beneficial Entomofauna was produced. In rural parishes there is a marked lack of knowledge about the indiscriminate use of pesticides and how this can affect the beneficial entomofauna in the soil, affecting not only biodiversity but also environmental health in general. |
