Beskrivelse
Summary:The objective of this research was to determine protein levels and the Albumin/Globulin ratio. (A/G) in pre-weaning calves as a productive and health indicator in the San Oracio and El Muisne livestock farms. To determine the plasma protein concentration and the A/G ratio, it was carried out using the UV-visible spectrophotometry technique. Subsequently, the applied statistical analyzes of the descriptive design were; measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, analysis of variance, chi square with contingency table for categorical variables and Students' T test. The results expressed that both farms are within the normal range, although the plasma protein levels in the San Oracio farm with 6.58 ±0.38 g/dl and A/G ratio of 1.53 ±0.48 g/dl were significantly higher with a p- value (0.004) than the El Muisne livestock farm with a general average of 6.18 ±0.30 g/dl and the A/G ratio of 1.60 ±0.88, with respect to the average weight of the calves the San Oracio livestock farm obtained a higher value with 102.89 kg, and El Muisne 89.8 kg. In the analysis of variance, the San Oracio ranch did not present significant differences between the categorical variables, unlike the Muisne ranch, which did report significant differences for the variable month p-value(0.009). In both farms it was found that there is an association between the variables age range and type of feeding p-value (0.007) as well as the variables age range by origin p-value (0.037).
