Among the main results obtained during the study period, was identifying that La Berna does not have a vacuum package, thus limiting the product offered by a retail market, and in consequence the level of competitiveness of the microenterprise is low, so it is advisable to add aggregate values to the product as such. In another sense to consider physical attributes, quality functions and brand that differentiate one product of another and in turn be able to meet the demand for consumption, in the near future to be representative in the sector where they operate. |

In another sense to consider physical attributes, quality functions and brand that differentiate one product of another and in turn be able to meet the demand for consumption, in the near future to be representative in the sector where they operate.El desarrollo de la investigación se llevó a cabo en la ciudad de Portoviejo, provincia de Manabí, mismo que tiene como objetivo aplicar el análisis del valor en el procesamiento de la carne de cerdo de la microempresa La Berna del cantón Portoviejo de manera que incida positivamente en su competitividad, para ello las técnicas de recolección de datos utilizadas fueron la entrevista y encuesta dirigida al dueño de la microempresa, tercenas locales y a una muestra comprendida de 383 habitantes, para conocer los principales indicadores a optimizar en general la calidad de la carne de cerdo que se ofrece, además de la técnica de consenso a los expertos, siendo la base para realizar matrices que fundamentan el trabajo realizado. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos en el lapso del estudio se identifica que la Berna no cuenta con un empaque al vacío, limitando así el producto que ofrece a un mercado minorista y en consecuencia el nivel de competitividad de la microempresa es bajo, por lo cual es recomendable que se añada valores agregados al producto como tal.
