Efecto de herbicidas post emergentes sobre malezas en el cultivo de maní (Arachis hypogaea L.)

Weed competition represents a significant challenge for peanut production, as it limits the availability of light, water, and nutrients, affecting vegetative growth and crop yield. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of post-emergence herbicides in weed control and their impact on peanut productivity. The research was conducted using a completely randomized block experimental design, with nine treatments and three replications. Variables measured included weed density and biomass, soil coverage, plant height, number of branches, and crop productive parameters. The results showed that the herbicides reduced weed density by 75 to 92% and decreased biomass by up to 88% compared to the control. This reduction allowed better vegetative development, with plant heights of 28 to 32 cm compared to 21 cm in untreated plots, and an increase of 25 to 30% in the number of branches per plant. In terms of yield, treated plots reached between 2.8 and 3.1 t ha⁻¹, while unmanaged plots recorded 1.9 t ha⁻¹. These findings indicate that the use of post-emergence herbicides not only effectively controls weeds but also improves vegetative growth and crop productivity.
